Yeah, sadly the modern versions of POVray are PC only, but it's roots came from the Amiga. I forget the original name that the software went by when it was on the Amiga, but after taking a new direction the people behind it decided a name change was needed.

For AROS,MorpOS and OS4 it seems to be V3.6.
The rest of the world is using 3.7. There is also some nice (3rd party) software for modeling, linked on their site. POV-Ray 3.01 is the latest version for 68k. But without a decent tool to create scenes ,with a visual feedback ,it is only of limited use. At least for me. BTW I guess you mean DKBTrace when you refer to the "original name"... |

Sorry I'm late to responding to this thread... but just wanted some clarification:
Are these images all build from scratch as in not REAL machines/pictures?! If so, this is so bloody impressive I thought you basically touched up existing images! I don't even think objects in games look as realistic as that keyboard! Either way, VERY impressed indeed. How long does it take to do one of these? I saw your video, but I'd imagine that was significantly speeded-up as well as rendered beforehand? |

Late to the party, but... Wow! Brilliant, love the detail.
I see the comment about the A3k screws has already been made |

So you guys don't have to read all the stuff... IIRC there was also a video of him, modeling that stuff, somewhere in this thread. But I'm to lazy to search it right now. EDIT: You are lucky. I didn't clear my browser cache. And there isn't much from vimeo in there. If thats no "clarification"... Last edited by Michael Sykes; 06 January 2015 at 22:15. |

Today I have modeled an Amiga 4000 and it took me the whole day from modelling, over texturing, to scene-setup, lighting, rendering and compositing in Photoshop. Ok with me if you could mention my Nick "Tommes" somewhere as the creator of the images. It could be small, though. |

Tommes - seriously great work! I'm assuming you have a job where you're able to utilise this talent or is this purely a hobby!?

Correct assumption. I am working in my own advertising agency and I am doing 3D CGI since ... well ... since the Amiga days. Started back in the days with Turbosilver, Sculpt3D, Imagine, LightWave and using LightWave ever since.

Did anyone know which Amiga this is? Is it older than the Amiga 500 or is it a cheaper later version like the Amiga 600? Never heard of an Amiga 64 though.

Funny that you don't know that it is the new model of the C64. You have already modeled the old version (also know as VIC64).

Tommes you are making some memorable wallpapers. I would like to use them all on my AKReal distro, but it's very difficult to convert some to 1024x768 (800x600) that I think are the more used on a miggy (SuperPlus).
Thanks a lot for your work, master. BTW: You must suposse there are a lot of us waiting for the day of an A1200 |

Well, I should make a collection for 1280x1024, 1024x768, 800x600. Will think of the dimensions next time.
1200? Ok, let's see ... I don't think I have an A600 anymore. I had one once. |
