A4000 video sync?
Hi,
I recently bought an A4000/040 including a Magni 4000 genlock card. Now I seem to have a problem with the video port: it looks like 1 or more sync signals are missing. my Microvitec 1438 monitor currently only works well when I switch the genlock card off. So I tried to remove the genlock card and connected my bare A4000 to the monitor via the video port, but: again an unsync'ed picture... How is this possible? Could it be that I have to set a jumper on the motherboard to get the sync signal(s) back on the video port? I looked in the A4000 HW guide and I think all the jumpers on my mainboard are in standard configuration. Any idea's? Thanx in advance, T-o. |

Look at aminet: there is a hack who is in fact the very same as sync strainer, who is all you need to fix the problem.

Finally got the time to build this sync buffer circuit yesterday, and it works! I just wonder why I didn't need a buffered cable for my A1200. Is the video circuit that different from a A4000?

Nope. Only in A1200 you have the RGB-tv modulator circuit as a "bonus".
