Why is it shown as being slower than a standard A4000 in the Sysinfo test?

Looks very cool. Similar idea to the old Xcaliber A3640 add-on. Hope the price is affordable compared to TF4060

sysinfo is not an accurate benchmark .. in my other videos you can see differences in Amiga speed.

so the idea is the same as in X-Calibur, unfortunately also when it comes to the lack of DMA

I don't know the price of the TF4060.
I do not sell ready-made cards .. only PCB with soldered rc elements and buffers costs 35 euro .. CPLD and memory chip have to be purchased on your own.

Anyway. a cool project. for people with a 3640/3660 it can be useful.
but I want to warn you about the supporthell when people uses DMA stuff.... even if you tell "DMA not working" I can bet money on people will nag :-/

Anyway. kudos for the project!

I've never had an X-Calibur but this should work:

If you're using it for a DMA SCSI controller, Leave some motherboard RAM on, set it to less priority than the X-Calibur-type fast RAM.

Then in the mount file for the SCSI partitions, set MASK to exclude addresses above the motherboard RAM.

Just curious: Can you have a 3640 with your RAM mod with a 68060 stacked on top of that again?

The 060 adapter was confirmed to work with an X-Calibur. e.g. A3640+X-Calibur+40->060 adapter. Either here or over at a1k.org

I know this is different but has a chance.

This doesn't actually work. See the various threads about using an A4091 and Z3 RAM for instance. Whatever RAM has the highest priority is what will be used for HDD transfers. You can promote Z3 to be the highest priority which will increase HDD transfers at the expense of general CPU performance.

But this RAM is not DMA'able so it shouldn't work anyway. Unless someone has used this RAM expansion with a Fastlane or an A4091 successfully.

Have built this board, but RAM shows up only one or two times from ten ??
I've used Alliance and Micron type memory, swapped CPLD out but no luck
