VR Slingshot
Looking for VR Slingshot. It has a HOL entry and there are some screenshots of the PC version at Mobygames but otherwise not much at all online about this title. Nothing at all on Youtube about it.
Has anyone ever seen this in action? https://hol.abime.net/4285 |

Here are two reviews about it:
https://archive.org/details/PixElati...de/1up?q=ixion https://archive.org/details/amiga-wo.../1up?q=virtual Apparentely you need two Amigas in a specific setup to 'play' the game, so the person that provided the disk scan couldn't try the game further than shown on the screenshots. |

Now I'm even more curious to see it in action. I also found this;
http://obligement.free.fr/articles/vrslingshot.php I guess they didn't sell too many copies if it required two highend Amigas to play it properly. |

I have a copy/disk-image of that game. I would be interested to try it out with my i-glasses, but wasn‘t able to start the program. You need an analogue-stick to start/play the game. Not sure what kind of hardware/analogue-stick is supported. If someone is able to modify the program to support digital-sticks I can provide a copy.

Does it come with any docs on the wiring of the analogue stick? I have a regular analouge adaptor for the Amiga.

I'm really surprised at how little information there is about this game online. I've managed to find the PC version which was released as shareware in 1994. I have it half playable in DOSBox but it just makes me want to see the Anmiga version in aciton even more.

@Great Sage: You can find an ADF-Image in the Zone. Can you test it with your analoge-adapter and let me know if it works? I can't start the game because of that hardware-adapter that was delivered with the game.
Attached is a picture of the game-box. I would like to try out the game with my I-glasses, but need someone who is able to patch the game for a digital joystick. Last edited by nujack; 25 February 2023 at 19:01. |

I have it, thanks.
So I've found my old PC analogue joystick but the adaptor wasn't with it. I'll test it on my 1200 when I find the adaptor. I did try it under WinUAE with interesting results. I set my 360 controller to act an an analogue joystick in UAE and started the game. It can see the joystick in the joystick calibrations section, the X and Y coordinates change as they should but I still get an error when I try to start on of the game modes "The VRS adaptor is not responding". I guess the game expects additional hardware that it uses as a protection dongle? I think this obscure game has remained uncracked since 1994. Perhaps one of the talented WHDLoad people could look at making a slave for it to get patched? |

The Game has the adapter in the Box.
The former User "elcayon" was Owner of the Original Game with Box and Adapter. He told me that there was an adapter inside the Box. I got the Original Disks years before to read them with Kryoflux for an IPF. But I just get the Disks not the Adapter so I it was impossible to try. The scans on HOL are from these Disks. I made them. And I also made the screenshots so far as I could. elcayon have sold his complete collection with rare games. Mostly to retropixxels. Thats why she has so many rare games, now. |

Interesting. This games is really rare it seems. I wonder how many copies are out there?
I have found my analouge joystick adaptor and can confirm that the game behaves the same on real hardrware as WunUAE. I can callibrate the joystick in the preferences but if I try and select any game mode and it says the VRS adaptor is not found. I have tried to diassemble the executable to find the check but I have had no luck so far and I really don't know what I should be looking for. |
