Bit Torrents for all things Amiga (Gigs of apps, games, demos to d/l)
I notice that some use ftp or eDonkey, another solution is by Bit Torrent. Some of the Amiga Torrents are very large but go pretty fast and don't use up bandwidth. Maybe consider using torrents here also once you see how well they work?
http://.mametitles.co.uk/ This site has lcollections of apps, CAPS, WHDLoad games, Demos collections. There's probably 10 Gigs of Amiga stuff. Last edited by TCD; 19 April 2014 at 10:08. Reason: added to title |

In case you are new to Bit Torrent, here are some links.
You can make a torrent with Azureus very easy and use it to download other torrents... http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/...up.exe?download You can upload your torrent to a tracker like Emu Paradise so everyone can connect to it. There's a torrent of Amiga emulators and 800 games right now also. http://70.85.9.138:6969/ |

Personally, I just use www.spy.com. It searches loads of BitTorrent websites. Do a search on there for "Amiga Tosec" at the mo. I got every one of those last week.

WDHLoad Torrent!!!
A, um friend of mine just uploaded a nice torrent to torrentspy. It's also posted on Filesoup with a file that helps load the A500 games in WDLoad. It's a very complete and easy package, I've been using it for a few days. Probably the best emulator/game package on the internet.

Coverage on these things is always too patchy.... It would be better if there were full sets of TOSEC'd files split according to alphabet (ie GAMES "A") rather than a single huge Torrent as quite often the seeder disappears before the whole thing has got around the network. There was the same problem with ED2K Amiga downloads.

I agree. Although, I have been able to get all the Amiga TOSEC sets from torrentspy without any trouble. But to be honest, the best way to get them is alt.binaries.emulators.tosec on usenet. It's the first place any of the sets get posted.

As a Sheffielder would U be with PlusNet? I have to confess I find too many ISPs have poor usenet coverage and I'd signed up for a ClaraNews account and then suddently PlusNet got their act together with great coverage. But I've always found emulator file coverage to be poor in the past... I'll have to check that all out again.

alt.binaries.emulators.misc has had pretty much everything posted there in recent weeks - usually in full or/and update packs

Mmm. BitTorrent is a wonderful p2p system. Speed is usually very very good so it could be very useful for CD32 images for example.

I downed about 2Gb of that 9Gb set but then it reported no seeds (ie incomplete coverage) so I gave up and deleted it. I think I'll stick to collecting via DVDR or CDR swaps
