Best way to get partition > 4GB on WB 3.1

I have read a million threads and cant find a simple way to do this.

I have a 73GB SCSI drive that I need to run WB 3.1 for toaster/flyer compatability.

Can someone please tell me the best way to do this?

Thanks!

SCSI controllers rarely need patches if filesystem uses directscsi. (PFS3AIO/PFS3DS)

I don't know how the Toaster/Flyer works, but if it writes directly to the disk (like Movieshop), then you cannot use more than 4GB, no matter what you do.

Use PFS3-AIO as filesystem and it will automatically use DS if possible:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/pfs3aio

If you need the tools, they can be found in here:

Thanks Demolition!

Toni was nice enough to PM me recommended PFS3-AIO.

I have downloaded PFS3V5 and PFS3_AIO

How do I install the PFS3_AIO?

Bill

Toaster flyer will work with os3.9. I hve used os 3.9 on both of my toaster systems. OS 3.9 is just not officially supported by newtek.

Hooooo

The Toaster doesn't care what size the HDD is, the SCSI controller does. An updated device ROM will work with large HDDs if the file system supports it, but older controllers assume that there is no drive greater than 4GB. I had attached 2 TB HDDs on my Phase5 SCSI controller under OS 3.9, but 'tis a silly waste of a HDD

Not having a Flyer, I don't know.

I repeat: if you have SCSI controller and it works with HDToolBox: Use Direct SCSI filesystem and be happy

No need for ROM updates, OS3.9 or any other annoying patches that cause extra reboots. Works even under 1.3.

Only if you have Gayle/A4000 IDE you need updates to bypass the 7.8G limit. (Other IDE implementations may have different limits)

Thanks Toni I will do it your way with 3.1 and use PDS3_AIO but I will test toaster/flyer on 3.9
