Longfilenames with idefix?

As many of you have seen i've done the slim cd mod in my a1200.
I've installed Bloodwych's ClassicWb and to get over the 4gb barrier used idefix.
My question is how do i get longfilename support on the cd filesystem?
I did it once before by copying cachecdfs over from the os3.9 cd but tried that earlier and it didnt work.
Any help gratefuly received.

@DougUK

thats strange my friend, as the format and convention comes down to the ISO type of the CD/DVD

if you have a forced 11 character name *(8+3)* and or with other limitations such as Joliet's when the CD / DVD is burned then the amiga can only see it as such.

I had an issue with this a while back when i backed up a load of WHDLoad unpacked packs to DVD, alas when set in a standard mode, it truncates the file names... and this wont work with the miggy at all...

if you are using Nero or WinISO, just relax the restrictions and have it set for 255 characters, that should sort that problem out

you can set or unset long filenames on cachecdfs preferences located on sys/prefs

the option isnt there in the older version of idefix's cdfsprefs...but it is in os3.9's version which is named CACHECDFSprefs.
I copied over the new prefs and the newer version of cdfilesystem..still no joy.

the options are there on oldest idefix versions...it's named cdfsprefs instead cachecdfs
by default it reads long filenames unless you have ticked the option nojoilet or cutfilenames to 30 characters
unset all options on and must read long filenames

I am using a buffered ide interface, don't know if this is affecting it...using my squirrelscsi i just copied over the prefs and filesystem from 03.9 and then got the option for joliet etc.

(scratches head)

okay... from memory, so it could well be wrong....

chain positions / unit id's

primary master = 0
primary slave = 1
secondary master = 2
secondary slave = 4

there are other LUN numbers but you need a different bit of hardware to use them.

I had a similiar problem in a post of mine yesterday, when trying to read a CD burnt from Nero (XP) on the Amiga. Kept truncating to 8:3.

I was using an old version of cdfsprefs, and was 'looking' for the ISO level 2 option or something similar. Then I upgraded the software and discovered the 'Longfilenames' option - fixed!

And yes it does drive you mad when you can't get something working, hence partly why I was awake till 02:00am the next day still at it.
