Bad Block on HD
Hi,
My Sistem Desktop A1200, KS3.0 WB3.1 I own a 1,4GB 2,5" internal Hard Disc connected with IDE WINNER. It seems to have a phisical error on a specific zone; I said "phisical" because formatting it (no Fast) sometimes it scratches in the same zone giving read/write errors. Using HDToolBox too the verify procedure sometimes scratches and gives errors on the same blocks. Into HDToolBox there is a procedure that allows to modify bad block list; does it work? And how can use it since it aks for sectors, tracks, cylinder but no blocks? |

If you have it formatted with FFS, and if you can get hold of Quarterback Tools, try that. There is a function that will examine your HD and automatically mark bad blocks out of service.
