Space Hockey - New retro inspired hockey - For Steam and maybe Switch

Me and a friend have been working on a hockey game inspired by old hockey games on NES and SNES and now we're not that far from a beta release.

That's looking really polished and the inertia feels convincing without actually playing it, if that's possible. Is it running in Windows or is it an Amiga game? I'm not sure the music is well suited to bone-crunching hockey action though. It reminds me of the Magic Roundabout.

This looks like fun, but this does not look like Amiga game?

It's not an Amiga game, hence "Retro inspired". We're aiming for a Steam release to start with, then probably Switch.

Because we have a Retrogaming General Discussion section in which retro-inspired games fit as they can be of interest to EAB members who like this kind of games.

Looks fun, Blazer!

No worry. You have joined the board for less than a year so you might not have grasped the "purpose" of each sub-forums yet.

I will edit shortly the thread title to include the potential platforms so that no one else think get excited and think a decent ice hockey game is coming to the Amiga.

What techniques you are using? How portable this is, would it be possible to port it to if not 68k Amigas, then PPC Amigas?

There is serious lack of sport games.

Disregarding the blended dynamic light flares, shouldn't even 68060 handle this kind of scrolling+ about dozen sprites easily at 640x400x256 (simple linear framebuffer) ?

Of course, it would have to be coded in ASM...

I like the music actually, it gives the game a nice laid back vibe. Judging by the graphical style and the gameplay speed, that is the intent.
