Thumbs up Enhanced debugger GUI

Hi,

I used to spend many time retro-ingeneering 68k assembler code, and think the WinUAE graphical debugger could be enhanced with many usefull functions.

To help you identify enhancements, I made a snapshot of "STeem Debug", a WinUAE equivalent for Atari ST. It is full of usefull functions I use often, which are not available on WinUAE. The much more usefull is resizable multi-windows environment. Take a look below :

This has been asked many times already, answer is still the same: not going to happen until someone makes or finds free to use GUI toolkit that allows separate resizable windows and docking like Visual Studio (and supports high DPI). Floating windows are too annoying.

Otherwise it would be far too annoying to use (for me) -> someone else's problem.

Or maybe some external program that talks with UAE via named pipe or network socket would work better.

Have you looked at ImGui? That might be able to do the job.
Quite a few debuggers use it.

No offense, the image is quite big to load (809 ko) and perhaps (surely) Free.fr servers are not the best fr these kind of image hosting.

I don't really understain the reason why it's complicated to cope with several windows for an application. Have you tried Qt library for that? Or perhaps Crabfists's proposition.

I don't know how many developpers you are for WinUAE, but perhaps a forked project is a solution, especially if you have documentation about communication protocol using sockets with UAE (does named pipes really exists on Micro$oft world?)
