I'm just saying some people would be pumped up to hear this played on kazoo as the machine is booted up and sitting there on the workbench for another 9 minutes.

Why not Wagner's "The Ring of the Nibelung" - it is full 15 hours?

Really: just stop the trolling, please.

Once they are ready to sell i will sell a few and we will allow a few resellers to sell also. There will be a few of the custom chips that are on the list. Coding is next in line for this, Denise is basically done and will prob need some tweaks. (Spoken like a non coder

Apologies if this has been established / answered already, but is this a replica of Denise 8373R4 or something else / custom / different?
Also, whats the latest about the project?
Cheers

Yes.

There will be scope for enhancements. But it doesn't look as daring as the two other projects by two different people to create replacement Denise chips. By choice I imagine?

Check the github. There was a push last month. Looks like beta version of the RTL (albeit the guts look borrowed from other projects)

The last I heard, life got in the way Too many projects, too little time.

This a great thing for the community. Anything that helps keep the Amigas alive when stocks of custom chip finally dry up is good by me.
Also if it helps drop the prices set by scalpers, thats a win too.

I quite like the idea of building a 100% new Amiga, and not using New Old Stock or recycled parts. We are now one step nearer that

Denise 8373 used to be affordable but some dude in Germany has vacuumed the market and now he’s selling them on ebay for €100+ a piece ;-)
Same thing with Analogic and Buster 11.
Some ppl will prefer the real thing but its very good that there are options for those who dont wanna feed the scalpers ;-)

I do not believe in people catering for the fortunate few that can afford to buy the latest overpriced "Toys" and regurgitated parts for the Amiga. The cost for the replacement custom chips will be a lot lower than what the scalpers charge. Buying parts in mass obviously reduces the overall cost. ATM there are thousands of parts available for us to build custom chips. I will not sell these in mass directly, I will make a few for N. American users and the rest will be sold to distributors. (to allow competitive pricing).

This is ultimately Nonarkittens project and i believe she already has plans for distribution.

I'm fairly sure that Raj didn't "hoover up" anything. He just had them. Analogic are one of the last of the "old ones". Take a look at any magazine from the 1990s and he's there advertising.

@kipper2k,

Set aside a set for me please, except for Buffee. Have an accelerator.

Fair enough, speculation on my part. But fact is he’s selling them for €115 / chip.
That’s a bit much even for a collector like me ;-)
(Already bought Buster 11 from Analogic though ;-) )

With Buffee I kind of learned the pain of "reinventing the wheel." As much as we can, we'll be leveraging on existing projects where and when it's suitable. In some cases, we may have to fix or alter things, but we want to keep the "new science" to a bare minimum.

they were just round the corner from me when I lived in Luton (many years ago now).
had my Amstrad CPC464 repaired by them and got a 512k memory expansion for the A500 (just before upgrading to an A1200) still got both. haven't fired either up in a long while now, but they were working pre covid

Sounds cool. But someone once told me... "Before reusing someone else's wheel. Always check that it is round."
