Are folks still able to mod their CF memory drives?

My miggy 1200 will not work without a Sandisk or otherwise that doesn't show a fixed disk on boot.

Anyone know if the tools are still available?

There is only one known tool to mod CF cards from REMOVABLE to FIXED

Only works with genuine SanDisk cards.

It's called atcfwchg.com

Can I use this tool on a USB card reader? It says to boot into DOS, but all the winboxes I have access to all run xp, and you can't boot into dos like good old win311/win95/win98.

Hi redblade,

You need a DOS boot disk. If you don't have one, look for a FreeDOS boot disk from here:
http://www.freedos.org
Specifically:

Send a message via MSN to rkauer Send a message via Yahoo to rkauer
Or simply start tapping <F8> after the POST on the PC, and before it starts to load Win.

Works for me, at least.
