Possible homebrew 8bit Sampler... but not 100% sure?

I seem to have stumbled upon something that has really grabbed my attention!

I bought some old audio visual video enhancing stuff and noticed the seller had something odd floating about with bits hanging off. It also had "Amigasat" written on it. I grabbed it into the bundle, you never know what you will find if you dont look! I was coming up with all these outlandish theories of it being a secret controller for low orbiting satellites lol (yes I know, was on the whisky the other night so that is my excuse lol)

After a day or so after it arrived I decide to open the lid and have a nose, I find what appears to be a homemade printed board (neat and tidy) and this little snippet of info down one side of the board:

P.G.D AMIGA I/F COPPER.

The board sits in a project box and is populated with:

rca phono jack/socket
25pin header
25pin plug and ribbon
9pin dsub
single wire fly lead to pin 7 on the dsub
trim pot
18pin dip, in socket but markings sanded off!
TC4093BP soldered to board
generic abs case
*other random bits, resistors, capacitors etc.

I shall get some pictures done as they can speak a thousand words! I assume this was some kind of project back in the day? Never seen a home made sampler before, if that is what this actually is?

I googled "P.G.D Amiga I/F" and it threw up this: http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?de...ules&view=5078

Any relation?

Maybe a (pirate?) decoder for satellite TV?

Sorry for the thread necro, but this is part of an Amiga satcom kit. Sadly no good for getting Sky Movies for free, but pretty good for picking up meteorological satellite transmissions. If OP still has access to the kit, I'd love to see if it can be made to work.

Amiga Shopper reviewed it in their Jan 92 issue.

No worries, but I had forgot about this thread. I do have the hardware still.
Sadly nothing else with it though.

I will have a dig around my stuff as it was packed away safe.
