Picasso IV Flash problem (again)
Hello all,
Regular readers may remember from earlier posts that I've been having some problems with a Picasso IV... After a long break, I've now finally managed to get hold of some new flash chips, however the update tools (even the hacked 1.11) can't find the card. I am wondering if it doesn't need a minimal boot code stored in the first block of the flash? If that is the case, I'm in a chicken and egg scenario! I am not quite sure how the PicassoIV works, but I assume there must be some way that it hooks itself into memory so that an update tool (even 1.11 which doesn't seem to require picassoiv.resource) can do it's work... So my question is this: Would someone on this list be able to flash a working copy of the Picasso IV flash ROM, any version, if I provided the chip and paid for drinks? All the best, -Marek, |

The only person who stands a chance of helping you is MASTATABS over on amiga.org aka Tobias Seiler who was one of the original developers.
Posting on picasso96 yahoo group might also get you somewhere. |

I got a flashed chip of the Picasso firmware v7sthng in the post today! Installed it, and woopie - the PIV is again visible in the boot hw diag! It seems to work just fine now!!! Booting workbench, loading the monitor device and everything is fine! Using workbench and apps is so fast I might throw my PC out on the street
