What’s in your 5.25 inch Drive Bay?
I’ve been using .iso images for my cd-rom needs for a while now. So my actual cd-rom drive is pretty much just sitting there taking up space.
I was wondering if you all have anything interesting or useful in your 5.25 inch drive bays besides a cd/dvd rom drive? |

I have a DVD-RW in there, but have been also thinking about using it for something better. Currently I don't really know what else I'd put there to be honest. I don't have a need to mount my flash cards in an externally accessible manner either.

I have a little drawer that I put sausages in to warm them up. Doing some lightwave renderings and I can smell the buffalo/jalapeno/cheddar links getting nice and toasty.

In my 5.25 inch drive bay, I've currently got an old 5.25" floppy disk drive that I use to read some ancient software. It's not something that gets used daily, but it's fun to have around for the nostalgia, and it does come in handy for some of my retro computing projects.
I've seen others install fan controllers or LCD displays for system stats in their bays. Some people even use them for additional storage, installing a small drawer for USB sticks and other small items. It really comes down to what you think you'd find useful or fun. |

One of my A4000s has a CDRW because it fits optically.
The other one has a 5,25 inch floppy drive connected to a Catweasel Mk III. |

Cigarette lighter with ashtray:
[ Show youtube player ] I joke, in reality I have nothing but a big hole. A small drawer is a nice idea. You can buy them on eBay... in black |
