Wayfarer browser port for AmigaOS m68k and AOS4

Talking to Jacek Piszczek of Wayfarer browser for MorphOS he said he would be open to licensing a possible AmigaOS m68K and AOS4 port... but no programmer ever contacted him.

Nobody interested?

What's there to license?
Wayfarer is based on WebKit, which is open source and free to port/integrate.

It's just a daunting task and most likely still is a few bridges too far for 68k performance-wise.
That's probably the reason no developer wants to put in the massive effort required.

It's written in Objective C++. It first needs a compiler for that language to AmigaOS 3 or 4. Also, thread-local storage is needed in Exec.library before it has any chance of working. Finally, it would bring anything less than 1 GHz to its knees.

Not really. Web browser is not just the core but lots of code around.

Port to 68k is not just about the speed and memory (1GB of RAM) restrictions but probably also lots of os services and libraries missing...

m68k speed shouldn't be a prob on WinUAE at least. Of course if you think to typical real HW config with bare A1200 or maybe EC030+8MB of fastmem ANY modern browser can't run decently... WinUAE m68k OS3.x with JIT is fast enough though.
