Hmmm. I don't have the disk any more, but I remember it well. Were there not 3 Star Trek colour cycled pics (among the other bits and bobs) with the following quotes? -

'Take us back to where we're supposed to be Mr Sulu, Warp Factor 1'

'Logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few'

'Engineering to Captain Kirk - ready to try it when you are'

- I always liked the last one because Scotty sounded a bit risque . I remember getting the disk with 9 others when I first got my A500 in 1985-86 or so. (I think).

Well.
The Amiga 500 computer was first ever sold out in march 1987. The disk what you are searching for was released during 1988/1989.

bye bye

Sorry - must have been adding a year or two on there.... (put it down to a senior moment.)

I don't think the disk had a name. All I can remember is that I got it in a series of 10 when I bought the Amiga. Purple/pink labels on the disks if that's any help!

I also remember...

'Now it is Millertime'

'Be above the rest in Colorado'

and something about a cardial condition with a picture of a beating heart in the background?!!!!

I'll have a hunt around and see if maybe I've got the disk after all in an old shoebox somewhere....

Just googled and found this:

http://www.oldsoftware.com/amigapd.html

mentions Star Trek and the Jarvik 7 heart demo. Search the page for 'Animation 2'.

Looks like they are selling it though! (I'll start looking for that shoebox I mentioned).

OK I've had a rummage around and found the disk and my A1200!

I've transferred it to an adf, then to a lha file, then stuck it on a PC format 70k floppy. The only problem now is that my current PC setup is sans floppy drive.

I've now got to take the disk into work, copy the file off it and e-mail it to my home PC.

If all goes well (and I haven't screwed up one of the earlier steps with transdisk - no way I can check at the moment), I'll upload the adf on Monday evening - fingers crossed!

One really spooky moment was when I booted up the Amiga for the first time in years and years and up popped a 'Vista' icon.

On closer inspection, it was one of those programs to create fractal landscapes, not a copy of Windows which dropped through a temporal rift onto my Amiga a decade or so ago!

OK I have the adf all nice and ready, but whenever I try to upload to the zone, I get thrown out to the login screen.

I've uploaded it to instead:

http://.com/files/61391003/action.zip.html

Let me know if this is a problem (I know a lot of people hate ).

When you load the disk up, run the 'on' program before the main one, or the graphics get corrupted (or you can just tweak the ram settings in winuae of course - I think it only works with 512mb chip).

Hmmm. It worked for me OK on just the basic config and using the 'on' program.

Pressing F1 when you get the screen with the dog launches some of the Star Trek stuff. You have to press F1, not just click on the box (is that what you are doing?)

Your settings look OK to me otherwise.

Just had a read of the instructions.

An alternative is to click one of the items from the scenes folder, then hold shift and double-click the action icon. That plays the scene directly without having to go past that stupid dog.

Glad all working now. It's been years since I transferred anything over from my Amiga, so I enjoyed booting her up and seeing Workbench again. Glad you gave me an excuse to rummage around the attic.

The disk I had back 20 years ago was a self booting disk that ran the demo and the sound effects, also loaded other pics too. I wonder if we can track this one down!!

Oh man! This is the disk I’m trying to track down!! It certainly was purple/pink labels, I bought an Amiga 500 from Silica Shop around 1987 and it came with 10 “PD” disks one of which contained the above demos.

The other disks had digitized photos, game demos (some educational game from Discovery International I think), graphic demos (juggler etc), a Perfect Sound demo and an excellent sample of Jean Beauvoir's “Never went down”. I remember being absolutely blown away by these disks and would love to see/hear them again!

Thanks,
Tolls.
