I never found out if this was a bug or intentional... but there's a system out there where precious gems are actually regarded as waste, so they pay you to "buy" them - there's the illegal risk but massive profits as you can imagine!
I seriously exploited that trade route back in the day |

I think it was intentional there was some info in the gazetteer about cemesis, I have done the route before, you do need a fairly well armed ship because of the pirates, so a fast fighter is better suited to quick trade runs...
I have the black market trader name at home! This time around I'll avoid it! |

I'm also thinking of playing a decent campaign, since I never got around to do it back then.
I'll need to flick through the manual first, since the game is not easy to get into... |

If you are just starting out it's worth spending a couple of hours just trying stuff... Like what happens if you shoot police, try manually docking into a starport, buying something from the market place and making a profit, do a mission for the military, set yourself a few little tasks before you jump straight into a campaign... I used to have different characters, one was a pirate, one was a trader, one was in the federation... There alot of roles you can have
Experiment first! |

All this talk of Frontier has me wanting to play as well. But differently this time.I want that sense of tension from this game so i'm trying to come up with a real way to play that makes it near impossible for me to want to save state. Some sort of pact that means i'm not allowed to save state during being outside of a station or city port otherwise i have to sell one of my games as punishment.I would more likely stick to not saving if i remained true to carrying out the punishment
Not sure i could do physical punishment like with a knife say but that might do it.It's a shame it doesn't flash the word wanker on the screen just after you've quick saved really as that might help Last edited by Adropac2; 05 February 2011 at 02:38. |

and yeah DJ something like that might do the trick.I wouldn't mind getting back into it though again.Perhaps if i allow myself 3 saves per day or something and put money in a pot for charity each time i fail that.Great memories of the game so i probably will start again on it |
