Question BattleChess CD32

Ol I downloaded Battlechess CD32 version from WHDownload popped it in WinUAE and booted and was surprised
to see that it requires full WHDLoad registration just to play it??? Is this correct??

Yes Some games need a registered WHDLoad.

Hi Kitty,

Not all games require it, but this one does.

Edit: Damn, but you're quick this evening, TCD!

Hi,

Any reason why you wouldn't play the CD32 "talkie" version of Battle Chess in the meantime ?
(I have a good reason to ask, as often, it will become clear once kitty has replied)

By the way, if you don't mind sacrificing a little visual fluff, and are in need of a more serious challenge, Colossus Chess X is the game you need (and its preinstalled doesn't require registration).

Is there any difference between the CD32 version and the normal Disk version?

It bears a soundtrack. I noticed it was partly speech when assisting to the first seconds of the tutorial.

And the preinstalled don't work fine here, that's why it would have been ironical for kitty to buy her licence just because of this game.

Psygore also patched Chinese Battlechess if someone is bored enough to check out its potential audio issues.
