Perihelion battle problems

Im playing Perihelion on my A500 ( 1 Mb , Ks 1.3) from floppies ( cracked v) and I have some stupid ( xcuse moi) annoying problems.
During battle, I'm unable to Move my characters.
Is this a " feature" or bug.. ?!
Additionally, when clicking the available action icons,
there seems to be problems with the game responsing the commands;
the skip and/ or Defend options seem to work only occasionally.
Is there someone else having similar problems ?
Should the game work on my machine ?!
Which are the exact memory requirements etc of the game ?

Ok, strange.. the game floppies I made seem to work ok on my A4000D.. so far.
Maybe there was some kind of problem with my A500 floppy drive (!?) and/or memory.
It was total 1 Mb; 512 kb Chip and standard trapdoor 512 kb Ram expansion.
I have tested the memory and machine with AmigatestKit program to be ok.
Played the game with both with external floppy drive (drive ok) connected and disconnected.
Btw, I had tested the disks with X-Copy to be ok.

Can't get the floppy version ( cracked) to work totally ok.
The death / game over screen has corrupted music.
Additionally, the save disk that is available for download on the game creators
website, seems to have some corrupted character data on some of the game save states. (!?)
I'd really like to know, if someone has got the game fully working when
playing the cracked version with real floppies.
I haven' t tested Perihelion with an emulator..
Does the cracked version work Fully with WinUAE ??

Ok I have been playing Perihelion WHDload v for a while.
Generally, I like to play games WITHOUT any cheats and/ or
solution guide.
I know theres some guides available for Perihelion;
But I don't want to see them;
Im just after a LITTLE TIP/CLUE :
( Please, dont spoil my game play experience with too much info!)
- At Soultomb Mine section;theres killing radiation on one part;
But You only get 5 ( five) filter masks before entering the critical area.
I have all six characters alive; but can' t find a way to get the sixth mask
( lying there on the ground, too far on the area ) without someone dying .
Any way to possibly succeed with all party members ..?

Ok, stupip me; it was quite obvious:
You have to be very quick and accurate
and constantly change the party member
Without filter dust mask, until you
reach the additional mask on the ground.
And if you succeed; during the next fight,
You hopefully have some characters on your
party with healing spells..

Ps. Maybe this thread could be renamed by
Admins ? Sorry ??

Can' t find my grenades anymore... Could that be a save game bug ?
( someone on Edward Toth's site mentioned ( the) save game bug of Perihelion !??)

Ok, I managed to complete the game.
I do agree with someone who wrote earlier,
that the final battle with the Unborn is a joke.
I feel empty and happy at the same time.
I think the game is easier to complete than
I thought. Also, when began playing Perihelion,
I thought there would be more places to explore etc.
Without doubt, you get that belief when entering the
Map screen.
Despite the game not being perfect per se;
I think Perihelion overall is a great effort and one of
the best Rpg games I have ever played.
When I know that Perihelion was written
by three students, I begin to understand that
the game is not "larger" than it is.
Anyway; This Is a game that definitely screams
for a remake, add-ons of some kind and even
a sequel !!
I take my hat off.

How long did it take you to finish the game? How much of the game required the use of the manual?

I have been meaning to try out this game. Maybe I'll play it next.

Oh, I used to play Perihelion a couple of months at evenings / nights (sigh!),
but not every day. Quite a many hours total, I think.
In my opinion, the manual is a must-have with this game.
To be more precise, if you wish to use some spells (and you will!),
the manual is vital.
If I remember right; the HOL website has the manual available for download.
