New ftp

Those of you that know me probably remember the time that i used to host an FTP. Well in a bout of boredom i decided to try and set a server up again which i have done now. However there seems little point with them these days with newsgroups so easy to access and of course torrents.

I guess i am trying to gauge interest on whether or not it will actually be useful to anyone.

I have a 12 Mbit upload speed so not the best and would share more than just Amiga stuff.

What are you guys thoughts?

Thanks, Ian, for your generosity.

I thought you had a nice mix of stuff uploaded on your erstwhile FTP server and I missed it sorely when you discontinued it (primarily because I had not yet downloaded all I had in mind

)

It Would be very welcome if you revived it!

Will it include all your home made pr0n as well?

Not sure what is FTP good for today... but as always, out of interest, count me in...

OK so looks like it's still going to be of use so PM me for a user account.

Jmmijo has tested it, seems it doesn't work if you have TLS enabled so disable that, and pasv mode may or may not be needed.

Currently it's using filezilla server, if it doesn't stand up to it though I will change it.

PM me for an details and a personal account.

There will be no anonymous account.

5 users at a time seems about right for the upload speed so its still a semi resonable experience.

It will not be on 24 hours a day as sometimes the misses uses it and turns it off during the day. It's not a dedicated server machine as it's just a little gift to you guys will my connection isn't being used much.

Let me add I'm doing this to give back to the community, so if you haven't posted and taken part then you will not get an account.

I don't care who downloads what or how much they do it, but those who just want to take without giving should probably look towards their favourite torrent site rather than my crappy little ftp anyway.

Sorry I didn't state this above, but this is how it is so there we go.

Also, spotted some stuff on free vend somewhere else, so the FTP probably won't be online until tomorrow evening when I've had chance to sort everything out.
