Support for 4K & 8K physical sector size?

Hi,

From reading the WinUAE changelog, it seems the largest physical sector size supported by WinUAE (for "direct harddrive access") is 2048 bytes.

Does that limit also apply to SCSI drives? Specifically, there are optical drives which use disks with physical sector sizes of 4096 and 8192 bytes:
- Sony SMO-F561 magneto-optical drive using 9.1GB MO disks (4096-byte sectors)
- Plasmon UDO 30GB optical disks (apparently have 8192-byte sectors)

Would either of those be usable with WinUAE at the moment? Is there a difference (in terms of performance or compatibility) between having the emulated Amiga use uaescsi.device or WinUAE's direct drive access?

(For what it's worth, DVD-RAM disks have a physical sector size of 32K, but the drive emulates a sector size of 2K, so there should be no problem with that type of disk.)

Regards,
