ClassicWB Time Issue?

The dreaded time issue has hit me again! Expect this time it's not in WinUAE, but on a real Amiga. I'm using ClassicWB on my Amiga 1200 and the time seems to keep correctly when I shut it off and on, but the date is wrong. The computer seems to think that's it's July 1st now and won't let me change it (it just reverts back). The time is correct though, which is really odd. I changed the battery on my accelerator board, but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas?

If it was a battery issue you'd think that it would

a. Revert back to the default time and date each time I turned the computer off. and

b. The time would be completely wrong each time, not just the date.

Very strange. Can't really think what would cause such a thing. Never had anyone else report anything similar.

Ok another odd development. I turned on my Amiga today and it says it's May 7th 2009. The time is wrong now as well, it's an hour and 10 minutes off (exactly). Weird!

I very much doubt it's a ClassicWB issue. My accelerator does similar. Most of the time it resets to December 16th, 2004 at 13:59 but occasionally the time and date is correct and sometimes it goes completely random (and I've had the time stay correctly but the date was at May 2031 once).

Ahh so it's probably an accelerator issue then. Bah, nothing to be done about that then.

My old RAM card did something similar - until I worked out that the arm holding the battery in was slightly loose and the battery was not making a good contact!

You can always double check - try booting into normal Workbench, changing the date, and switching the Amiga off/on.

You can do this using your standard Workbench disks, or try holding the right mouse button on boot to bring up the ClassicWB bootmenu and then select Workbench.

Yeah I thought about that last night. I'll take a look at that.

Good point. I will check this also.
