Is it just me?
I am not sure if it is just me but I have been trying to register a new account on Amibay, it seems that the website has several errors when I visit it, but at the bottom of the page, I can see that new people have registered. I have contacted the guys over there to ask if it is possible to register but never got a response. Just wondering if they are blocking people from particular countries, or my browser is not working. Just seems odd that for almost a year now I have not been able to register. Has anyone else had the same experience?

I did read that only manual approval (after contact through Facebook) was happening?

My personal rule is: no communication, no trust. Amibay sounds like a site to avoid.

It'd be nice to have some European retro marketplace, what with UK trading being hit by Brexit taxes/customs, but asking for fb registrations or some other arcane hoops is silly. Sort it out, guys! |

It does seem a bit draconian to have to ask via FB for membership, I enjoyed Amibay back in the day and was looking forward to buy and selling there again but it seems like they are really not interested in new users signing up. At least you got a reply

The reason new registrations have been closed is because the upgrade didn't work as expected and finished up a total balls up. This has been like this since September.
We are moving to a new system when the Devs get a chance. Until then I've offered to create new accounts through FB or there is a thread on here where you can ask. |

Ahh I see, okay it is not my browser then, I thought it seemed a little odd, sorry to hear about that and thanks for clearing it up for me. I will have a look for the thread then.

This is mirrored by the offerings, mostly garbage or massively overpriced stuff (especially from Poland) over the last couple of months, IMHO. |
