Dogs of War

My budget version (Pocket Power) fails to install using the latest v2.0 slave, it gets to track 60 in RAWDIC and complains about No sync signal, looking at that track in HxC it's actually unformatted, track 61 does have data!

Have uploaded a CT RAW to The Zone!

Comparing this version to SPS #3008 my dump has lots of unformatted tracks, #3008 does not have any unformatted tracks!

I can take a look at that. Seems like the versions of this are wildly inconsistent about which tracks are formatted!

tbf it wasn't helped by the fact that the original I was sent back in the day had bad tracks on it, so it was hard to tell.

I guess it depends on whether they only duplicated the tracks that are used and used unformatted disks!

@Denis: What is the protection track on DOW as it appears it's the same as the protection on Golden Path that Abaddon has now supported.

Well from what i saw yesterday, the protec longtrack is not used (or track 0.1 is badly imaged in your CTraw, but i'm not sure of that).

The game is built with steve bak's wrapper Atari ST => Amiga system, with an AmigaDOS boottrack, an amiga directory and a small program to load all the IBM/ST tracks 10x512 bytes sectors.

Those IBM/ST tracks are the protection, they are mastered long ($3565-3567).
They can possibly use hidden gap protection between sectors....

EDIT : the exam of the KF raw dump indicates that the disk would need some cleaning.

A redump then would be welcome.

I have no idea where that one went, either in storage or up in the attic! I'll have to check
