Sampled Sounds
Back in the day before mp3 arrived, sampled sounds were all the rage. The first digital sample I heard was the incredible speech on C64 classic "Ghostbusters". After hearing this I knew that I had to get my hands on a C64. Soon after along came "Impossible Mission". I was totally blown away.
However, this was only a taste of things to come. When I finally got an A500 in 1987 and borrowed a friends sound sampler, the possibilities appeared endless. Now to my question. How did the guyz from the SCA ( http://kestra.exotica.org.uk/demo.php?id=17659 )manage to stream more than 2.5mins of the Miami Vice theme directly from floppy disk? Has anyone else attempted this feat on another Amiga demo, or created a utility that provides this facility? |

I have several disks were there is a huge sample and a program that streams the sample.... it's just a little tool. I can only remeber 2 of those disks right now... hmm, both Swedish...
Hmm, think their names were "jävla smurfarna" and "little sven" Last edited by Ironclaw; 06 January 2007 at 17:48. |
