More Hardware for ... ME. A1000 new generation
somebody in Germany (namely Georg Braun) seems to have re-constructed the A1000 mobo with 'some' extra features. It's just awesome.

I don't think that thing in the bottom left is a commodore logo.
The brand is on the top left. As for A1000, I'd like to have a link, more details etc. Looks great but also looks unbelievable enough. |

You're right, it's not even a logo, it's some kind of switch:

I guess that's a HP logo in the top left of the "microwave"

C'mon guys.. ;-)
It's a logic analyser, you can see it's wiring loom right next to the AmigaBUS connector.. (the flat connector with a huge jumble of wires) |

I love this kinda thing, building up your own amiga!
I wonder where he source the graphic / custom chips from... this is a great adaptation of the phoenix boards, especially with the in-built 030, strange to the use of only 8MB of ram though.... but 90% of amiga-ness 8mb is ample ![]() mind you he could of done all of this in a much smaller foot print on an FPGA. hmmm i'm sensing project.. |

It does look a bit like a microwave though, albeit one with a disk drive - so perhaps it could cook your floppy disks. So if a game really frustrates you, it's toast.
Oh yeah, cool A1000 too ![]() |

You can buy AMBER chips as NOS for about $20
I looked at getting some to make some of George's other invention, the A2320 AGA 24-bit Flicker Fixer. P.S. Is that an "I'm going to leak" barrel battery on the new phoenix board? |

My oscilloscope uses the same case as that beast but it has more buttons. (And as such is much better)
![]() my logic analyzer is tiny but slow, 25Mhz max. (Its missing its pods at the moment but I got it for £25 so yay) That A1K design is amazing, I love the way its layed out.. and it was autorouted, when I use my pcb programs autorouter it makes a total mess of it. (as its only a one pass router, bahh) Hats off to this guy, he did an amazing job. |

LOL@NLS
![]() ![]() ![]() dude, it's what all the fuss is about. He made a NEW MOBO the same size of A1000 mobo, you can just pop in an A1000 case. With all the features I listed embedded on the mobo. You have to provide the chips though. |

![]() ![]() Nice project! Hmmm, Replace those custom chips with CPLD's (or FPGA's) - maybe the 68k too... Google Languages Did you notice those Intuition benchmarks? ![]() Last edited by Charlie; 07 February 2008 at 18:49. |
