A source of cheap LCD for "small Amiga" projects...
This isn't strictly a problem, but I recently saw this:
http://www.warrantyvoid.us/cyberhomedvdplayer.html It's basically a hack to use the small (2.5") screen in a cheap portable DVD player. The cost of the player is apparently only $20 in the United States (that probably means £40 here, but hey ho... ) The player seems fairly rubbish, but I think the use of the screen looks good and it is a fairly simple-to-do hack - only a couple of wires to solder on .. .of course, the composite is NTSC - but could be PAL too... I wonder if anyone have tried with any of the other cheap portable DVD players out there? Presumably most of the chips used in these applications will have composite video output as standard? |

Saw that a while ago too, was interested till I saw the price and then could not find any either :/
I still go with Sony Playstation screens for price Vs performance anyhow. |

GameCube screens, piece of piss to mod, cut all the circuitry for doing composite away, google for the panel pinout and you can get Amiga RGB directly to the screen.
Im using a screen model: Sharp LM6Q401 |
