Modding an NES controller for use with Amiga and C64

I posted a guide last week with a guide to modding an NES controller for use with your Amiga or C64 systems, and it also maps the 2nd button to d-pad up for use with platforming games and some racing games.

Hopefully it helps you out!

Joypad for Amiga with just one button? Bad design, for joypad it should be at least two buttons (not up to button), see this list...

I'm aware of the games that support two buttons, but this has far more use for me personally. It would be easy for anyone to just map it to the pin 9 for use with 2 button games if they wish.

In fact, it would be nice to have a switch for that... hmm future mod idea. If you did that, it would work great for Master System as well!

You could also use Master System joypad and have 2 buttons ready to go, no need for mod. Plug and play.
Personally, I modded my PS1 joypad for 2 buttons and another button for UP/Jump.

You can actually use my Megadrive adapter with any joystick with a DB9 connector and configure the jumpers to remap buttons 1 and 2 as desired, even to UP/Jump.

Hi, do you know any places that sell ready made ones in Europe?

Hi - left a comment on your blog as well - are you pinning out 5V to that controller at all? Or just the data and ground lines?
