Amiga on a Raspberry Pi 3B+

Hio all,

Ive read the other guiys thread and has hes on about a Pi 4, I'd like to ask specifically about the Pi 3 here.

I have Emulation Station and Retropie running on mine, as it will be used for DOS, C64, Amiga and similar stuff. I'd like to know if there any tutorials on setting up WHDLoad games, hard drives or whatever. Or can I simply follow the Win UAE stuff? I also noticed int he other thread that one fella said the emulation from Amiberry might be a bit quick on some games. Has this been addressed, as I thought selecting half meg A500 would run "slower" than a 1200.

Anyway, any pointers or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

You simply have to place your whdload lha files in the amiga folder and restart Retropie. No need to setup or adjust anything.

There are speed/timing issues with some games because RPi is not powerful enough to allow cycle-exact feature. As far as I know it can't be remedied by tweaking options, at least I haven't heard any solution for that yet. And I really did try hard with It Come From The Desert.

That said, most of the games should work ok. For me the annoying thing is actually not knowing which games are affected, because in some titles the differences in speed could perhaps be subtle.

How did you get on Enemy AI? I have been playing with the amibian distro on my Raspberry Pi 3. It is working well so far on the general desktop, But I have yet to test it with things like Deluxe Paint and 3D applications.

I've not tested it with applications, just games. It seems great but I haven't tested the timing in the games as mentioned here either. So far though, its seems as good as anything else for emulation.
