My New A600
I just got this...
My first A600 for ages... it is in remarkably good condition. It has the KS ROM 2.05 v37.350 so I should be able to put a 2GB CF card in without any problem. When the 8 MB RAM upgrades are produced I will put one in this A600 - should make it a pretty neat little computer. It's boxed and the security seal is intact! It looks like it has been very well looked after. It does make a change to not have to spend all day cleaning an Amiga that you have bought - in a way I'm pleased but I almost feel cheated as the restoration and cleaning are part of the process... I just need to blow the dust off this... I had forgotten how cool the A600 is in design - I know it has it's draw backs but it is still a great little computer. I will add some more pictures as I add bits to it - I am going to keep the original ROM at this stage as I intend to run the Classic Workbench A600 install on this - I will get a 1MB RAM for it soon as Amigakit have them on order. I will have to break the security seal to install the CF Card Hard Drive!! |

Incredibly good find.
I'd be tempted at buying another one with the seals broken. Then I'd stash that perfect one in the loft. Breaking the Amiga's seals is like deflouring a virgin. |

An old thread but I have been upgrading my A600 with a few bits lately so I thought I would add a few pictures...
1. I have added a 2GB CF Card via an adapter - HD light works fine... you can also see I have an A603 in place. 2.Amigakit ROM Switcher fitted... 3.The Switcher has 3.1 and 1.3 ROMS fitted... thanks to lolafg for the 1.3 ROM! - I would recommend this ROM Switcher from Amigakit! |

A600 might be a failure as a commercial product for its time period, but it's a perfect gizmo for retro gaming.
