DH0 or HD0 ???

Don't know if i need to place this in soft or hardware but here it is

When in WinUAE all my "hard" partitions are called whit DH...
Now i placed all stuf i had in WinUAE, on to my 1200.
When i stared Dopus.... its says "No workbench found"
but in the settings it was set good......i thought so.....

Until i try to recall my Workbench.....it says HD0: and not DH0:

Now where is the error? Or is this ment to do

Boot from the wb install disk, start hdtoolbox and change your partitions to start with DH instead of HD and you're set.

Don't modify anything else than the partition names.

Don't use device names (DF0, DH0 etc.) in your startup scripts, always use the volume names (Workbench, Work etc.).

If you refer to the boot drive you should even use the SYS: assign instead of device or volume names. SYS: always points to the boot volume, no matter which name it has.

Some unnecessary words here:
Whenever I formatted a HD on my first real 1200, the device name showed up as:

(First letter of the HD brand) + (DH) + (number)

Like QDH0: for a Quantum HD and WHD0: for a Western Digital. Probably HD Toolbox did that, I wasn't using anything uncommon. Then my VOLUME name choices were DH0: DH1: and so on. I never named a drive like "Workbench" yet there are install scripts that assume you have a volume named "Work" or "Workbench" and fail halfway if you leave things to them (select the novice mode) I'm still unsure if I did these things the right way.

Never ever use novice mode !! Novice mode is for experts only. You have to read and understand the whole script in order to be able to decide whether it does the right things or not. As a novice you should always use advanced or expert mode. (They should kill novice mode in Installer, it almost never does it right).

Best example is the WB3.1 installer. Novice mode tries to install it onto the Workbench diskette, rendering it unusable unless it is kept write protected.
