ok...
what program are you using to format disks...? i have had this problem before on an A1200 (internal drive), could be the drive giving up, if you load up WB, does the drive show DF0:???? (sometimes without a disk insert) and aren't disk 880kb formatted, 902Kb unformatted! |

Your probably right about the disk formatting capacity (880kb)
When it boots up it never comes up with the problem you mentioned. I'm using the workbench's format command....... |

Unformatted disks are (roughly) "1Mb" but assigning a definitive term to the size of an unformatted floppy does not really make sense - it is more to define the type of disk that the actual physical storage capacity - because it really depends how you use it that depends on how much data you can get on it ![]() With the "DiskSpace" filesystem alone (used on some AUI cover disks), you can squeeze 984Kb on a disk... And that is without any "special" tricks. |

I remember using the DiskSpace format to store some of my files and mounting DS0: - it was pretty cool at the time!
