CD32 Lid

Hi.

I've recently swapped my cd unit in my cd32 as the old one would spin backwards. The new one is great however I've noticed that now my lid doesn't quite close right and without putting a weight on top the CDs can be heard spinning and sometimes they slip. is there a way to adjust the lid so it sits flush again?

Check the rubber washers of the CD lens, you might have not screwed that part correctly.
MEssing with those is how I fixed my "scratchy" issues.

Holy crap it worked! Instantly sorted and my cd32 no longer has a roll of masking tape on the lid holding it down!

Many thanks

Old thread I know, but I will say that adjusting the screws with the rubber on them did fix my issue of not reading CD-R's. I slightly tweaked the tightness of the front two screws and suddenly my CD32 reads CD-R's (and "real" CD32 discs and Audio CD's) just fine. Fairly quiet too. No grinding noise just a "whirring" noise now, which I think is normal.

I also did replace the laser using your procedure...but it's possible I didn't even have to do that. Thanks Akira!

Masking tape? You're supposed to use the paint can!
