A1200 LED screw size
Hi all,
Are the A1200 LED screws M3 6mm? For reference I was looking at some LEDs for sale which include the original screws but the screw thread looks wider. Does anyone know which screw size I'll need to buy to match the original ones? Thanks |

They are some kind of plastic screws (for plastic, not made out of plastic :-) with a rather coarse thread. M3 is probably too thick.

M3 is a Metric Machine Screw thread.
You need a small self tapping thread 6mm long. AmigaKit have them on eBay.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155622670...iABEgLw7fD_BwE ...though I would still ask the question; "Will these screws be okay to screw into the LED mounting holes please?". Tbh, I think they'll be fine. |

Bossard B30X6/BN13577 might be suitable. I've used these for C64C/Amiga cases. Note this also says thread size three, but it's only the bit that cuts into the plastic which is that wide. An M3 machine screw is the same thickness all along the way.

Thanks for all the replies I'll take your advice and buy a set from Amigakit rather than trying to find the correct tapered self taping screws myself!

For sure you have some junkbox full of non working things - i always try to at least extract small screws from all junk i have as they are usually made from unobtainium otherwise...
