Valhalla games require amiga 1200??

I remember playing this on my amiga 500 back in the day but I cannot find a version that will run on my amiga 600 via whdl they just ask for a better cpu...

Any ideas why?

you're right. I played this from floppy on my A600 with 2mb ram.

errr, IIRC the game has a HD installer on the floppies... infact i'm sure it does as I had it on my 600's hd in its later years of life back in the day. Did you try that?

aha, yep it does run from HD.

Here's the manual on how to install it:

that's certainly one way of doing it.

another would be to transfer the adfs and a program called ADF2Disk (find that on aminet) then get yourself some blank floppies to restore the adf onto a real floppy.

the reason i suggested doing it that way is WHDLoad needs a little extra ram and power to run well. without an accelerator or more ram than 2mb, I think that's why you're having problems with it.

There is an hdf containing all 3 Valhallas floating around the tinternet.

Also I would open a shell and 'type> copy df0: {hd dest} ALL' for HD Installation.

Thanks guys, well I do actually have 4mb ram total (604 expansion + original 1mb + 2mb sdram card.

The main problem is that I dont see why the Whdload versions require an amiga 1200... and thinking of it I had the same issue with buck rodgers... and I clearly remember that on my amiga 500 back in the day.

You don't need WHDload to play this game. Once all 6 disks have been copied to the HD it can be started from the Valhalla icon. Works on A600 1mb fine.

Hi yes the WHDLoad packs say it requires a 68020 when I try and run them as do a few games such as Buck Rogers. No apparent reason.

Hi well I copied them over lastnight and ran the first game... the intro kicked in and all was good... then it booted me back to Workbench ... I didnt have my extra 2mb sdram in at the time (so I just had under 2mb avail) so I would imagine and hope it was that.

I will try again later.
