Sky effect in the intro of Global Trash II
Has anyone tried to implement the sky/cloud effect at the beginning and end of the Global Trash II wild demo? I'm not sure if computers at the time were powerful enough to run the effect in real time, or if it was recorded to tape frame by frame, but today's computers surely are.
I'm guessing there's a start/seed image and framebuffer feedback with position distortion similar to what music visualisation plugins like Milkdrop, Geiss, etc. use. I'm not sure about the noise that makes it look cloudy though. Could it be as simple as using a random offset in addition to the position distortion? |
