Mad Max Jochen Hippel errors?

Hi,

I notice that Jochen Hippel (Mad Max) isnt credited on all the games he did the music for.

Rings of Medusa 2 http://hol.abime.net/1239

Stormlord http://hol.abime.net/2129 (Your screenshot even has his name!)

Cybernoid 2 http://hol.abime.net/3164 Are you sure that Jochen didnt do this? He did all the music to all other Amiga Hewson games of the Period... he did the music for the Atari ST version. Where did the currently credited guys name come from?

-----------------------------------------------

Jochen didnt do this game, it was Stein Erik Giske

Hello alexh, i own Stormlord in original and it seems that the screen in HOL is from an
alternate version with different graphics......

On my version it's the maniac of noise that created the game music.

But then Andreas can you tell where did you get the pic for it ? thank ^^

And re: Cybernoid 2. The manual credits Thalion for the ST music and Frederic Hahn for the Amiga version.

Thanks for the info alexh.

The US and non-US versions of Stormlord seem to differ in some ways so I've split the entry into Stormlord (Hewson) and Stormlord (Spotlight):

http://hol.abime.net/2129
http://hol.abime.net/5301

This explains the difference in titlescreens that dlfrsilver mentioned.

I wonder why Jochen Hippel is on that screenshot... did it definately come from the Amiga version?

Hi Cody, i think we have a problem here because my version of stormlord is caps
number 874 and is stated as be the european version, for me it's like you swap the
screenshot, or it will mean that i have preserved the US version which don't appear
right to me asap....

BTW: You've spelled "Raffaele Cecco" wrong... not that it really matters

Sorry to bring up this dead horse again... BUT... I was wondering the same. I do have both versions. The HOL screenshot with Jochen Hippel credited seems to come from the Paranoimia crack. Still seems like an unfinished version, note the programmer's name that extends past the graphics. It also has the old Hewson logo (still present on 8bit versions) on the packaging.

So currently there seem to be three versions. This one, with Jochen's music, and two other, PAL and NTSC, with the new Hewson logo, with red (PAL) or black (NTSC) logo color.

Can anyone confirm this?

No, Stormlord Amiga game has Maniacs Of Noise (Jeroen Tel) music only. This game is conversion from Atari ST. Music for Atari ST version was made by Jochen Hippel, the first (beta?) Amiga version of this game has unchanged Atari ST credits, next versions has Maniacs Of Noise credits.
If you want you can play Stormlord musics using Jeroen Tel player for EP.

Ok, to clarify... I am talking about the title tune with the bell in it, and the sample... "Stormlord"...

The official sales version I have here (there's also an IPF available for this), sold in a cardboard box (not the older plastic case), has the "new" title screen but _no_ music is playing. This title screen also has no credits.

I was wondering why the title tune was omitted for the final sales version when it is in the beta...

You're right, Don, at least regarding the Spotlight US version.
(Not sure about the European version, though.)

Hippel has his trademark sound, Tel likewise. Hard to mix them up.

Ok, to put it in simple words:

Paranoimia crack: early version with ST credits HAS title music
European Hewson version: has new Hewson logo (red), NO title music
US Spotlight version crack: has new Hewson logo (black), NO title music

I still don't understand why the official sales versions seem to omit the title music. I mean the music playing while the title screen is shown. I do not mean the screen with the scroll afterwards. It is present in all versions.
