Do you have the correct monitor file in DEVS/Monitors (not Storage/Monitors)?

If using the OS3.9 OS Update or more specificaly the latest exec.lib, then youll need to patch up to latest cgx4 to work with the new lib.

if you use 3.9 then install BB1 + BB2 , no need for extra patches to exec. I know because I have a grex4000/voodoo3 setup with cgx4

Im not refuring to extra exec patches. Just the update which is part of latest OS39. I dont remember 0 cgx cards found error, but there was no screenmodes database until patching cgx4 to latest which fixed compatability with os39 update 'exec.lib' with my Bvision.

isn't that done automatically when running cybergraphx3 installation?

@mad-matt & keropi

i did have the "missing screenmode database" error on my last installation, that was after updating with boingbag 1.
i've never tried cg4 so i hope both screenmode and missing card errors will dissapear after installing boingbags and cg4.
will report after installation.
