I never knew about this one..
What an amazing version of the game!
I checked out the 'snow bros' thread detailing how this unreleased gem came to light.. good read

The default mode is EASY.. I assume we play on this setting?

Yeah shall we stick to the default? No messing about with options and potentially forgetting things then

Oh come on! There is only two options on the options menu and one of those is to use two button joysticks. I'd say 'NORMAL' mode is the default because on Easy mode players may not be able to complete the game and get the biggest scores. You know I always like to choose the hardest mode. As for 'forgetting', well we didnt forget to set up every other game this year.

Leaving it at default seems the simplest solution, I don't mind either way really

Given that Lifeschool has basically decided for himself that we are going to play Normal and someone else has posted a score on that mode already it looks like that's the deal...

Hey, sorry if it came across as that. The message on lemon was pre-typed on Friday.

I just dont want to find out in week 3 that easy mode has some disadvantage like not being able to generate the same scores, or complete the game, or it quiting out after level 20. I'll give this more investigation.

Normal also means the fire monsters shoot further, so its more like the Arcade.

Above all, this may just be a knee jerk reaction, so I'm happy to go either way.

But yes lets play normal for now and see how we go.

dammit, been having several goes on Easy until i just read the above

here's the score anyway, if it even counts.

447500

had a great start with the first three levels getting me those 5 chinese writing card thingies, then it all went downhill after the first boss.

i can see the pros getting many million multiples in this game. I take it on Normal skill you get a higher score for roughly the same playstyle/tactics for easy?

@ Diablo - yes your score will still be allowed even if we do go to easy. Yes I noticed the same tactics work equally on both modes.

Actualy, I just checked a longplay and Easy mode gives more score, more lives, easier enemies and its faster to make snowballs. It look like I was wrong this time and in fact Easy may be best way after all.

Actually yes, I've now had a chance to study both modes and it look like Easy is the only way to go after all. It cuts out the possibility of cheating as easy is the easierst way to get the biggest scores, and there are NO penalties for Easy mode as far as I can see. Sorry for all the confusion. I think its good to sort this out on the first day.

You were right Graham.

If people are already playing on Normal we should go with it. At the end of the day it doesn't matter as long as we are all on a level playing field and besides there are plenty of people in this competition who would probably find easy mode too, well... easy

Yup, that would be interesting to know before I'll miserably fail, as I always do in this kind of games.

Both Lemon and EAB's threads now seem to have continuity that NORMAL difficulty is what we should be choosing.
