Maybe it is an emulator issue. Try on real hardware.

I disabled JIT in the emulator and notice it first performs a normalizing process, and starts checking DH1:, but, after a few seconds, the debug window clears automatically and starts scanning DH0... When it reaches the font drawer, it hangs in the AON font (don't know why), and crashes.

Besides that, when I open the Hip.debug program, I try to copy the content of the window to paste it in a word processor (Golded, Finalword, etc...) and only copies the first letter... there are no export optios, so I don't know how to copy it (in case I find the way to avoid the guru)

I think the program would work OK if it didn't insist on checking DH0...
If you're running emulator, you could maybe grab screenshots of the log window? Also, it could be possible to provide the exactly same emulator environment for me to test as well, but I guess that would be a lot of trouble

I sent you two different test versions in a private message, I hope you find time to test those.

That's really a tall order, since it's been hardcoded tightly to old kickstarts and the underlying hardware. I know of one github fork that started porting the source to a modern platform, but it has not had changes in a few years.

Nice to see this tool is being updated ! Thank you.

First file I tested with this version was a DBM - and AHI was requested. I searched a bit where to disable this, to no avail. Is it possible to replay _everything_ without AHI ?

DIGI Booster PRO modules need 68020+ and AHI to work as far as I remember. Older DIGI Booster modules should work without. Was it a DBPRO module by chance?

Hah, this explains the line in the code that says:

Code:

;cmp.l	#"KILL",MN_LENGTH+2(a1)	* ????????
... which I commented out because I thought it was some silly old remnant. Turns out, the TerminateHiP program uses it Therefore it doesn't work anymore!

Bug?
If settings: "Play Modules In Random Order":
HiP 2.45 - plays a different module each time it is started
HiP 2.47 - always started with the same module

Great news! I recently set up an A500 KS1.3 system and this makes it so much better (the fact that you couldnt choose a directory to play its contents was frankly annoying!). Together with the new JST releases the old blue OS just got much more fun to use =)

Oo, a new bug, nice find!
Seems that the first random value was not actually random at all.
This will be fixed in the upcoming release (out in a few days hopefully).

Is there a way of running HippoPlayer from shell, I am trying to run it in Arcade Game Selector 1.0(AGSAE), got it to play music in the background with...
Code:
dh0:s/hip HIDE menu:hip.prg
wait 1
It does have a problem with playing some mods and comes up with request.tools v1.38+ error on the top of the screen if it can not play one, is that normal...
?
I updated it to 1.58

I tried...
Code:
dh0:s/hip
wait 1
I guess it needs Workbench so you can see its window...?

The link in first post does not work, this one does... http://aminet.net/package/mus/play/hippoplayerupdate
The one on first post gets redirected to de4.aminet.net that does not excite.

Might be worth posting this in the thread for the current version? https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=108711

Could you clarify what is it exactly that you want to do in this case?

There are limited possibilities to use HiP from shell. It has an ARexx interface for more complex scripting support.
