EOTB Black Screen
Hi
Using ClassicWB and the associated config in WinUAE. Using latest 1.5 of EOTB. Get the music but no display. I'm sure I've had this before but can't remember how to fix it! Any help appreciated! M. |

Well fixed one part of it by disabling JIT and FPU and enabling More Compatible on the CPU tab but now the graphics are corrupt.
Any ideas? M. P.S. This game definitely needs a skip intro option! |

Again fixed this now - well i hear there are issues with restoring a save but we'll see.
Settings: More Compatible Approximate A500/A1200 or Cycle Exact Chipset: Cycle Exact (Full) Anyway I'll leave everyone alone - leaving this here just in case I forget again in the future! M |

Yeah on about Eye of the Beholder. I downloaded 1.5 from the EAB FTP site. Not sure if it’s AGA or not. Esc does seem to work so that’s one thing fixed!

Are You sure it's not 1.05? Because on Grandis newst version for AGA is 1.09 for first and 1.05 for second part. AGA version have better graphic (256 colours from PC VGA version) and auto-map on [TAB].
Maybe try other version. Did You tried WHDLoad version? |

Hi
File name: EyeOfTheBeholder_v1.5_0116.lha This is the WHDLoad version from the EAB FTP server. I'll have to hunt down the AGA version and give it a go! M. |

P.S. This was downloaded using the EAB Downloader tool - will have another look on the FTP now.

P.P.S. Can't see the AGA version if you can post a link or upload to The Zone that would be most helpful.

P.P.P.P.S. (Thats a lot of P's!) I've tested the 1.09 version and it does seem much better. Using DamienD's tip of ticking immediate blitter fixes the issues with (most) of the graphical problems as well.
I'll stick to using this - not sure why it's not in the download pack. Do get an error about MMU not being supported but it still works. M. |

Yeah, immediate Blitter does help. Though to be fair, the graphics glitches also disappear if you run the game on a 512KB+512KB A500 in cycle exact mode config. The game just has some minor issues with the whole expanded Amiga business. Happens on real AGA hardware too, to an extent.
Unless you use the AGA version, naturally Oh and a minor edit: you can edit posts if you want to add stuff to them. Saves you making five posts in a row |

True!
I was alt-tabbing in my defence tweaking stuff and reporting back so to save peoples time. AGA version seems fine so I'll stick with that and see if I can get past where I was last time whereby I think you insert Disk 3? Maybe? and the disk was knackered (that's going back to my original Amiga) same happened on KGB as well! Last disk on that knackered - at least we have HD loads now! M. |

Ok, and that's solved. It's WHDLoad installer version, not game itself (since AGA versions have higher numbers).
If You got from Grandis AGA version sent by me You should have both standard and WHDLoad version (and icons should be placed fine). BTW: I recommend You also second part in AGA version and remember You can transfer party from first part. Last edited by Solo Kazuki; 11 May 2020 at 07:30. |

Yeah aware of the transfer party bit.
I've grabbed both versions - I'll have to keep an eye out for other AGA games that I've not been aware of. I didn't realize that there was one for EOTB! M. |
