Make an A1200-PS2 mouse adapter

Is there a way to make a converter for an A1200 so you can use a PS/2 mouse with it? Or, even better, a way to mod the mouse so i can use it out of the box?

Off-the-shelf solution is the Cocolino from Elbox.

The very same, but with support for just two buttons and no wheel is a DIY project from Aminet called mouseps2.

Or even better than getting a Cocolino (and cheaper) is to get a USB Mouse adapter from Retro Data here - http://www.retro-data.com/

Cocolino was pretty cool back in the olden days when mice were sold with PS/2 plugs, but these days they're all USB, and do you really want to have a PS/2-USB adapter plugged into ANOTHER adapter (Cocolino) then plugged into the back of your Amiga with a mouse finally plugged into the end of the chain? Unless you have a PS/2 mouse you already like and want to use, then the Cocolino is fine.

Retro Data also sell brand new mice that have been modified to plug straight into an Amiga mouse port too, so no need for an adapter at all.

If I was going to build a USB mouse adapter for an Amiga, I'd have a pass-though/switcher in it so a joystick/control pad could be plugged in at the same time. Kind of like those Joy-Mouse-Switchers, except with a USB port for the mouse, and full CD32 pad support.

Ratón! Olé!

Speaking of joy-mouse-switchers, I found out yesterday that Cocolino works fine with one of those switchers with "MAUS JOYSTICK" printed on them, and not only that, it gets rid of the stupid "joystick is der default, you müsst einmal maus klicken!"

Win win win!
