Demon's Winter
I used to play this RPG when I was younger on my Amiga, I don't know how popular this game is and if anyone has fond memories of it like me, but personally I would love to have a WHD version of it to relive some memories.
I realize that a game like this probably isn't high priority since it's and ugly game by amiga-standards and it seems like it only got "bad"-reviews. |

Isn't this game already compatible though? I run it from my hard disk under OS3.9, no WHDLoad nor JST required...It even quits fine, so I can't see the point of a WHDLoad version.

Have you tried my Demon's Winter Character Editor (available on Aminet), I'm rather proud of it? Last edited by Minuous; 29 January 2010 at 09:49. |

I wouldn't worry too much, means the protection is now stripped, its getting a WHDLoad install anyway, and subject to playtesting will be up on the site soon.

Don't know if this is important but I've noticed some glitchy graphics in the character creation screen.
Maybe there's also some glitchy stuff later on to in the same manner, I don't know yet. It might just be because of winuae which I run this on to just to test it out. The intro also spins trough way to fast, but that's just something minor that's probably due to the almost non-existent load times |

Its WinUAE. Make sure you're settings are correct, A500 setup, no JIT, most compatible mode etc, and it clears it up.

The graphics glitches was in the WHDload-beta version and it was due to my poor setup of Winuae so no need to worry about that. |

Galahad: I'm sorry, I'm such a noob, I don't know how to install the game without an installer so I can't test it.
Last time I though it was pre-installed because stupid little me failed to realize that I still had the disk in (winuae doesn't make a sound if this is the case and I didn't even think about having to go one folder further). When I finally had the time to test out the game I realized my mistake when it asked for a disk (a very stupid one ) and I started searching for a guide on how to do this and I came up with a blank. I'm still very new to Amiga's that's newer than 500+ so I have a lot to learn, I'm willing to test out the game if you explain to me what to do, but I fully understand if you don't want to help someone out that doesn't really know that much yet. I'm sorry for having kept you waiting but I didn't want to bother you with a noobish mistake but now I have to anyway. |

No worries
Do you know how to use LHA? Assuming you have it setup on your hard drive. 1). download the file from the zone 2). Copy it to your main directory in your SYS: drive (Amiga drive) 3). then type (not the quote marks, just whats within!) "lha x demonswinter.lha sys:" this will unpack the entire archive and create a new directory on your harddrive main SYS: partition called "demonswinter" type "cd demonswinter" then type "whdload dw.slave preload" (I think the slave was called dw.slave) And then that should work and load. |

I have it on my HD, if you want I can upload it here. I tried it on my 040 CPU back then and I seem to remember that it didn't run quite cleanly. (I had gfx errors in the game) |
