Yes, but you had to wrote cp_pi_if to cpld and code for aos as well and then modify drivers for A314 devices. I guess should you design A314 to work with trapdoor and cp from the start it would be even less work and all functions would have been written to work on both. I'd love to see what's the speed difference though.

@Eriond designed a new layout for the interface PCB that has all components on the same side, so that the PCB and the Pi Zero PCB can be sandwiched.
