These replies must be the most useless ones I've ever seen. Great going guys Now that all the none sense is out of the way, can this thread be about the original topic again?

Are you absolutely sure that you need such a potentially expensive disk drive? For the money you're willing to spend , you can get far more interesting equipment than a boring floppy disk drive. Before you shell out that kind of money, I'd think about this if I were you (unless money isn't a problem for you, of course ).

It's an obsession for me! If I get one, than I'll be free of the evil grasp of the floppy!

? dunno what's useless about my reply, especially when the main idea is the same as yours ?

I know ancalimon's dilemma and personal situation, he has his 4000T at "repairs" for more than three years now ? First thing he should do is to get that amiga back, before shelling out that kind of money for a HD Amiga floppy drive (which is a mostly useless apparel for amigas especially these days, but I can understand his fetish).

ancalimon, if I were you, I'ld scour ebay for chinon FZ-357A, sometimes they come by from sellers who don't know what they are and go for cheap ...

I've got a DD drive from a 4000D you can have for not much...

I know it's not your destiny for this density but it's better than a hole

Hey! Mind your language! My A4000 is not that kind of A4000 it's got a modest DD. And it covers the hole

Hi ancalimon,

A high density Amiga floppy disk drive is just not worth $100. Why on Earth would you be willing to pay that amount for one? Do you have some 1760K Amiga-formatted floppy disks you would like to read?

If that is why you need a high density drive, I could read them for you and produce .ADF images you could use in emulation.

You can always emulate 1760K Amiga floppy drives in WinUAE without pre-existing disk images by creating a blank 1760K .ADF image.

Just had a thought, could you not butcher one of the external HD drives made by Power Computing for example?

but he just wouldn't name his price for it.

Problem is I can buy a USB controller today, (which I'll buy in 2 months) but I can't find a working high density floppy drive for my Amiga
