Rare Amiga game "Magician´s Dungeon" preserved & released by World of Longplays

To celebrate this occasion we thought it is the perfect time to give something back to the community. A full dump of Magician´s Dungeon!

This super rare Amiga game was discovered by NPI on Ebay a few weeks ago. There is no info about this game anywhere and no HOL entry exists.
So we went ahead and bought it for 892,- Euro and sent it to dlfrsilver to get it preserved! He successfully dumped the disks last wednesday - so
special thanks to him too!

The game might be crappy, but it is preserved now and can be played again for the first time in 34 years!

Ermmm...how to run it? My Ancient Amiga skillz are non-existent...

I got as far as some loading screen but then it crashes. Been using WB 1.2.

EDIT: it's okay now, the game itself has loaded (when I said "no" to the Introduction, and didn't try to open "Instructions" in WB).

Fixed ? what is the problem ?

Disk 1 (CRC $FB9B967D) => 6 bad bytes
Disk 2 (CRC $70C09612) => 3 bad bytes

I played it a little earlier and was getting Read/Write errors whne moving from location to location. The game would still proceed if I Canceled the error, but location picture did not load.


Now with the fixed version it seems to work OK.

Was scanning the disk for Virus; there are a number of checksums / corrupt files. Not sure if it's copy protection, but give how old the game is.

No I'm rich. These are pictures of the first version I had - I've sold it to Amipeguser. My other version is sealed so I can't help with a clean dump.

Edit:The Magician's Dungeon is an early version of the game "Realm of the Warlock" - based on the screenshots on hol.abime you can clearly see the origin. The coder later even programmed Darkseed and a few other games. This was probably his first commercial finger exercise.

I have no errors when i copy the files from the set of IPF i did. Each file copy without any errors.

Hi Guys,

as AMike has told here, I get his second opened Version of this Game and I made a Stream
of the two Disks in our german a1k preservation Team. Was in June 2019.
But the Streams are not checked so far. So we stil have another Original of that Game.
