Jaguar XJ220 and saves
How does one get the game to save progress ?
I've been messing around with it for hours last night and it refuses to work (alot of the TOSEC adfs don't work properly). What I did was insert disk 1 and 2 into DF0 and DF1, then created a blank disk with WinUAE's option to do so and inserted that into DF2. Jaguar then tells me that I need to format the disk before I can save.. fine I do that but nothing happens. I also tried out the WHD installed version and for some reason that'll not save either. Is any special settings needed to get this to work in WinUAE |

Save Disks usually like to be in DF0 When clicking Save or however you do it, does it not ask for the Save Disk to be inserted in DFO:? If not have you tried putting the Save Disk in DF0: before clicking Save? |

I'll add this to the list of the games to test tonight. Last time it worked in WHDLoad when I tried.

Yeah I remember i had the WHD version working but what I don't understand is that it's the same HDF image I've been using all the time and now for some reason I can't get it to work.
@DamienD. I think you're right about it has to be in DF0. I'll check it later. Thanks. |

Read/write is enabled.
I transferred the file back to my PC from my Xbox's WinUAEX dir so it's not write protected in any way. I'll grab the installer from whdload.de and make a fresh install and see if that'll do the trick. |

I think you need to format the disk using Jaguar's save option or prepare one completely blank disk.

WHDLoad uses DF2: (Disk.3) for save/load data In ADF version I've set empty floppy into DF2: and when prompted to save after first race, it asked to format disk *it changed name of disk to 'Jaguar Save'. So it worked for me. I never used XBox, so no idea there... |

Small question regarding WHDLoad: Why are there whdload versions for games which have a native hd install procedure? And if they had not, some could be simply copied to the HD. And even these are whd'ified. =) Never got the concept of this...

Taken from http://wiki.abime.net/amiga:whdload_faq_by_codyjarrett
- All games have a quit option to return to Workbench. - The games are fixed to work on modern machines. - The games are patched to pass any copy protection. - High scores or save games can be sent to the hard disk. - Bugs or annoying features are fixed. - Game compatibility with emulators is often improved. |

Maybe I have a bugged version of Jaguar, it asks if I wanna format disk and I say yes but it doesn't format it correctly.
It just keeps telling me to format the disk. If possible could somebody please put a Jag savedisk in the zone for me to test. |

It still wants to format the disk you made. I think I have a bugged game. |
