Winua + WHDload + Project X

Hey guys. I'm having trouble running Project X from my harddrive using WHDload.

I'm using a A1200 setup with 3.1 Workbench. High compatibility settings, cycle exact, etc.

The WHD install works fine, but when it ry to run the game the WHD popup comes'n goes and then the screen just goes black. No HD/FD activity, nothing.

I tried fiddling with RAM settings but that just ended up with either a warning message or a crash back to workbench. I also tried original disks, aswell as ipf images from the Dream17 website.

Any ideas? I ran out.. :S

Which version of Project X (v1.2, not the Revised Edition)? Registered WHDLoad? Do you use a quickstart and if not, which memory config do you use?

Well i have no idea what version my disks are. I dont have the box anymore. Besides those i tried the SE version from Dream17 site as mentioned.

My settings are pretty much the A1200 quickstart. Just with "cycle exact" checked and CPU Freq also set to A1200. So that's 2MB chip mem and 4MB fast. The readme from WHDload states the game needs 1MB chip and 3.5 other.

EDIT: BTW TCD i like Jamiga, are you still working on it? ^^

Oh and yeah my WHDload is registered.

EDIT2: Hm i'm gonna go and give these normal version IPF images a go. Dont think i tried those.

Try KG's preinstalled version if you aren't sure then : http://www.whdownload.com/games/Pack..._v1.2_0289.zip

Same result, just a black screen. And the IPF image for disk 1 from Dream17 is broken (checksum). Someone should tell em. XD

It's quite weird. WHDload works perfectly fine for my other games so far. Running the game from disk works, and the WHDload install process worked fine too. Just the game wont load now. grr

Yep, that's worth a try and if that doesn't work either, try the 17.0 beta (that's the one I use here).

Contact Wepl and ask for a new key if it still doesn't work. It's worth a try

Too late, already wired. No hard feelings though. Keeping the spirit alive after all these years deserves a little extra.
