Maybe we could ask one of the coders here to have a look what the actual condition is. I'm still also hoping to get an answer from one of the coders of the game

for winuae could be a bug.
i tried with WinUAE 4.2.1 and putting 2.04 and 68000 processor, it load clouds. With WinUAE 4.10.1 with the same config not work. for real amiga i don't know, but i think it is a kickstart issue |

i made another test with WinUAE.
Amiga 500 from floppy disk (kick 1.3, 512k +512k) it load the clouds animation like i remember me many years ago on real Amiga 500. It's a bug of WinUAE. With 4.2.1 working good!! |

My real A500 with 512k chip 512k slow kickstart 1.3 definitely has no clouds. I used the same ADF on WinUAE with the same config and its the same with no clouds.

Brad Taylor answered me this about other games that have added features: "I think in MI2 there was a boat hull in foreground (by the bridge in Woodtick) that got disabled because of performance."
Maybe the graphics for it are still in the game? I guess we need a coder to actually figure out what the condition for the extra clouds is. |

i remember, at least, i think to remember that there are the clouds when i tried on old A500 with 1 MB of memory.
WinUAE should the be key to this mistery: old WinUAE load clouds on stock A500 (wtih 1 MB for floppy version), but new version of emulator add the clouds only with 68020 cpu. maybe a video on youtube registered from real Amiga could be explain this little mystery, but on youtube is difficult to know if Amiga video are from real hardware or emulation. |
